Gol IL was one of 27 clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Hallingcup 2019. They participated with 12 teams in 9 out of Hallingcups all 16 categories. The team in Jenter 13 (9v9) made it to the the in Gruppespill, but lost it against Hundvåkøy IL 2 HiL by 1-1.
In addition to this, Gol IL have participated in Hallingcup before. During Hallingcup 2018, Gol had 16 teams playing in all categories except Gutter 6/7 (3v3) and Jenter 11 (7v7). Two teams played until Bronze match in A-sluttspill; Gutter U16 (11v11) Gol G16/15 won over Skjetten G16 by 1-0 and Jenter 13 (9v9 stor) J13 won over Nordsiden-Askøy IL J13, Nordsiden/Apollo by 1-0. Gol originates from Gol, which is the same city as where Hallingcup takes place. The area around Gol does also provide five additional clubs participating during Hallingcup 2019 (Gol IL (J14), Ål IL, Hemsedal IL, Nesbyen IL and Skaga RTG).
